En Concert: Duo Cavatine “Fireworks!”

July 18, 2021 / 3:00pm

It has been a hard year for everyone, and Duo Cavatine (made up of cellist Noémie Raymond-Frieset and pianist Michel-Alexandre Broekaert) is here to inject a good dose of positivity into the world! We decided to craft a concert packed with our favorite uplifting music, and came with a ground-breaking idea: a Potpourri Sonata, formed from movements of four different sonatas, carefully selected by us to create the highest delight!

Praised for their dynamic and refined personalities, the duo reveals great complicity and poignant sensitivity, the secret of their compelling stage presence. From Couperin to Schnittke, their artistic versatility is evident in their wide range of musical styles. Winners of international competitions and most recently of the International Music and Fine Arts Competition, Noémie and Michel-Alexandre combine their great virtuosity and mastery of their instruments, making them one of the most prominent emerging duos. They are regularly invited to numerous venues and concert series, including the Pro Musica Society, the Chapelle Sherbrooke, Orford Music Festival, the Oasis Musicale, and notably a concert at Music Mondays in Toronto that was recorded and broadcast on CBC Music’s “In Concert” program.

July 16

En Concert: Le Trio

July 16, 2021 / 8:00pm

KIN Experience would like to invite you to an evening of jazz featuring Montreal’s “Le Trio” made up of Marshal Herridge (Double Bass), David Rourke (Guitar), and Baptiste Lejeune (Drums) for their CD Launch! Remembering some of the great and lesser-known standards of jazz, it’s going to be an evening to remember.

Consisting of Marshal Herridge (Double Bass), David Rourke (Guitar), and Baptiste Lejeune (Drums), Le Trio is a straight-ahead jazz group that draws its influence from the rich history of jazz trios and Great American Songbook standards. The band’s extensive repertoire and knowledge of the jazz tradition is evident in their quick-silver arrangements and imaginative solo voices. All three musicians are McGill Schulich School of Music alumni. Currently, David Rourke is completing a Master’s Degree from the Juilliard School and Marshal Herridge is completing an Artist Diploma at New York University.
